Viz Venkatesh Selected as First Tee’s Volunteer Junior Mentor
Viz received the exciting news that he has been officially selected to join the prestigious First Tee Greater Houston Volunteer Junior Mentor program.
This is a proud milestone in Viz’s golf journey. After years of playing, competing in STPGA events, captaining his school team, and sharing his love for golf through Sink A Putt, he is now stepping into a mentoring role to give back to the game he loves.
This new role perfectly matches everything Viz stands for — making golf fun, accessible, and life-changing for kids.

What is First Tee?
First Tee is a youth development organization that uses golf to teach life skills and build character in kids and teens. The Greater Houston chapter serves thousands of young golfers every year.
The program emphasizes five core values:
Respect • Responsibility • Perseverance • Integrity • Sportsmanship
As a Volunteer Junior Mentor (for golfers 13+), Viz will:
- Model the First Tee curriculum
- Assist coaches during classes and events
- Help reduce student-to-instructor ratios
- Mentor kids ages 7–13
- Create a fun and supportive environment on the golf course
What Viz Will Do as a Volunteer Junior Mentor
- Teach & Model Lead fun golf activities and demonstrate proper technique while reinforcing First Tee’s core values.
- Mentor Kids Build confidence in young golfers, encourage sportsmanship, and be a positive role model both on and off the course.
- Support Coaches Assist with classes, events, fundraisers, and tournaments.
- Grow Personally Develop leadership, communication, and coaching skills while earning valuable community service hours.
- Make Golf Fun Help every child feel the same joy Viz felt when he first picked up a club.
